Kid At Heart. Forever Young.

You wanna know what will keep you young?

Just never let go of the kid in you.

Yeah we all know everyone comes to a point of their life when they need to 'grow up' and handle their bills, take care of their family, work on a constant basis. You start to make friends from your children's daycare classes instead of parties. You stress over the lawn that never gets cut and being late to work again because your child can't wake up in the morning for school.

Stress. So much stress.

Breathe, you tell yourself, remembering vaguely of your life before 'growing up'. The minor responsibilities you had, and the time when you could splurge on yourself without having to worry about a budget.

Your daughter tells you she can do what she wants because "once upon a time you used to be young and fun too".

What happened to your youth? What happened to your energy, your endless happiness, your fun, crazy, spontaneous side?

We seem to forget that we only have one life to live.We stress about little materialistic things. When you were a child you lived for that moment; lived for that day.

Yes, once you get 'older' you do have to worry about more lives then your own. Yes, you have more responsibilities and living is a little harder to do. This doesn't mean you still can't live for the moment. Being spontaneous keeps you excited. Adventures and random trips keep you wanting more out of life. Going on dates keeps your marriage young. Laughing keeps life and you beautiful.

I decided to look back on past journals I wrote as a pre-teen. I found a list of wishes. It had said on top of the list 'these are wishes that may seem impossible..but before I die I want to have conquered them all.' Determined. I was completely determined. Even then I knew life was short. Even then I knew I wanted to live my life doing whatever it took to keep me happy and adventurous. Yeah, it was kind of like a bucket list. A bucket list that, now that I found, I want to continue to conquer and continue to add more and more 'wishes' too.

The impossible is not always impossible. Don't lose your fun. Don't lose your youth.
